Dr Muriel Bruchhage (Post Doctoral Research Fellow at Brown University, USA).
Muriel first began working with members of the CBDP whilst undertaking her PhD studies at Kings College London. Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Muriel was part of a research group who detected significant changes in brain structure and function following drumming practice. The photos show participants completing ethics forms, performing the drumming test and completing an MRI brain scan.
Muriel presented the findings of this Waterloo Foundation funded project at the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine Conference (Singapore) and was a co-author on a peer reviewed paper published in the prestigious neuroscience journal ‘Cerebral Cortex‘ in 2016.
